  1. Preserve before install

Record the selected printer, filament and process presets before upgrading so the same three choices can be checked afterward.

    Open official preservation source ↗
  2. First validation after update

Reopen 3MF and gcode.3mf files, confirm build-plate and preset mapping, and on Linux retest the device page with port 7125 if needed.

Source review:

Good to know

QIDI Studio combines model preparation with QIDI printer presets, material profiles and device control. Current releases follow upstream Bambu Studio features while adding QIDI-specific connections and configuration.

Sources reviewed:

Where it fits

Best suited to a QIDI workflow where slicing, preset selection, sending jobs and checking the printer happen in one application.

Install and update note

Pick the Win64 installer or ZIP, universal macOS DMG, or the Ubuntu 22/24 AppImage from the official release. On Linux, QIDI warns that WebKit can crash on the device page; port 7125, the newer control page or browser-based Fluidd are documented fallbacks.

Common questions

Which model formats can QIDI Studio import?

The official quick guide lists 3MF, STL, STEP, AMF and OBJ.

Check the source ↗
How are slicing settings organized?

They are split into printer, filament and process presets; each group can also be saved as a custom user preset.

Check the source ↗
What happens when a non-QIDI 3MF is opened?

Current releases can replace the embedded printer and filament choices with QIDI-series equivalents, so review the result before slicing.

Check the source ↗
What should I do if the login or Fluidd page is blank?

QIDI first suggests reopening it; if that fails, use Help → Clean the WebView cache and remove the platform-specific cache folder described in the support article.

QIDI Studio and QIDI Slicer

QIDI Studio is a separate application from QIDI Slicer. Check the printer, nozzle and imported profiles against QIDI’s setup guide.

A quick check before installing
0/3

A project file is not an installer

A .3mf file holds model or project data. Opening it does not install the slicer. After opening a project, check the printer, nozzle and material settings.

Check the official requirements

Files are hosted by the developers. Before installing, check their system requirements and release notes. A file labelled for your platform does not establish the minimum OS version.
