What the site does
SlicerShelf serves a saved release catalog. Browsing does not require an account. The only upload is the optional online STL slicer, described below. The application currently runs no advertising, analytics pixels or cross-site tracking. Fonts and project icons are served from this site. Catalog imports run on the server; your browser does not query the GitHub API.
Technical requests and security
The server receives your IP address, request time, requested address, response status and browser information when it serves a page or file. These data are used to deliver the site, investigate failures and prevent abuse. The legal basis is the operator’s legitimate interest in a functioning, secure service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The application does not create a visitor access log or analytics history. Operational error and security information is kept only as long as needed to diagnose a failure, resolve an incident or meet a legal obligation. Delivery and hosting providers may process connection data under their own service policies.
Appearance preference
The appearance selector follows your device’s light or dark setting when set to “System”. Your browser saves the selected mode under slicershelf:theme:v1 in localStorage. Open tabs of this site can share the choice through the browser’s storage event. The preference is not sent to SlicerShelf or used for tracking.
The saved preference has no automatic expiry. Clear this site’s browser storage to remove it; without a saved choice, SlicerShelf starts in Light mode. If storage is blocked, a manual choice applies while the page is open and may be lost on a reload. No cookie is needed for this setting.
Your saved printer
The STL slicer remembers the printer you chose last under slicershelf:slicer-printer:v1 in localStorage on your own browser, so the form opens with it next time. Only the printer identifier is saved. It reaches SlicerShelf only when you slice a model, and it does not identify you across websites.
There is no automatic expiry. Choose another printer or clear this site’s browser storage to remove it. Earlier versions of the site saved a slicer selection under slicershelf:workbench:v1; it is no longer read and is removed with the rest of the site’s storage. The application does not place advertising or analytics cookies.
If you email us
An email contains your address, the message and any information you choose to include. The operator and the email service provider use it to answer the request and follow up on a correction or privacy question. This processing is based on the legitimate interest in handling correspondence. Correspondence is kept while the request is being handled and for any necessary follow-up, legal obligation or ongoing dispute. It is deleted when those purposes no longer require it. Do not send sensitive data or private printer projects.
Providers and external links
The hosting provider, and any configured delivery or security service, process technical requests to operate the website. The email provider processes messages when you contact us. We do not sell visitor data and do not use it for profiling or automated decisions.
A download, source or Wayback link opens a different service, such as GitHub, the software publisher or the Internet Archive. That service receives your request and applies its own privacy policy. Installer files are served by those original hosts.
Your rights and changes to this page
Where the GDPR applies, you can request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request portability where that right applies. Email the address above. Requests are normally answered within one month; if an extension is needed, we will explain it within that month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
This notice will be updated before changes such as adding an advertising or analytics provider take effect. Features requiring consent will need an appropriate choice before they are enabled.
Online STL slicer
When you use the STL slicer, the model file you choose is sent to our server together with the settings you picked. It is stored only to slice it, never shared, and deleted after slicing; the resulting 3MF and G-code are deleted one hour later. To prevent abuse, a one-way hash of your IP address is kept in memory for at most 15 minutes.
