Slicer filename inspector

Paste a release filename to decode the likely operating system, processor and package format. The check runs entirely in your browser.

Try an indexed example

Paste a filename

Use a full filename, including its extension, for the clearest result.

When this helps

Use the inspector when an official asset name is unclear and you need to identify the likely operating system, processor and package before opening the download.

Method

It reads only explicit filename tokens and known extensions. It never opens or inspects the file itself.

Worked example

Example inputs

Release filename
CrealityPrint-7.3.0.6149-macx-arm64-Release.dmg

Calculated outputs

Platform
macOS
Architecture
ARM64
Format
DMG

How to read the result

The three labels describe the likely platform, architecture and package format. “Could not determine” means the publisher did not put enough information in the filename.

Common mistake

Keep the complete filename and final extension. Do not assume that a missing processor label means x64.

Assumptions and limits

Filename labels are hints, not compatibility guarantees. Confirm requirements on the official project page.
